Recently my friend Jamizal from Kuala Lumpur moved in to Dubai as a legal counsel for one of the biggest petroleum company in Malaysia. He and I graduated from the same alma mater. We also used to live in a same building during our university years. After graduation we met occasionally for teh-tarik sessions around Kuala Lumpur and he met me when he first came to Dubai for a meeting last year. So I am very happy that he is now a new resident of Dubai as he adds to my expanding list of teh-tarik and 'happening' friends !
Last weekend I helped Jamizal moving in to his new apartment in Southridge area, Downtown Dubai. The place is a posh expatriate area and is also very close to Dubai Mall and the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. He got himself a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment with a very large patio. But the most interesting finding is, the apartment building has two squash courts.
I have always wanted to learn how to play squash. So after all the boring paperworks with DEWA and Du, we went to Dubai Mall and bought our squash racquet and balls. We played squash straightaway that night for 3 sets. It was an easy game to play and very effective exercise for cardio too.
This month is the last month of summer and that means the beginning of winter outdoor activities for peoples here. I will be playing volleyball every Friday starting next week and not to forget, a game of squash for every other days !

Squash - that's not exercise, it's flagellation.
